Funza Lushaka Bursary Information
Funza Lushaka bursaries are only awarded to South African citizens. Bursary applications for this opportunity will not be considered unless the student has a valid South African ID number. People who apply for these type of bursaries must already have been accepted into an appropriate study programme in a registered higher education institution. Bursary applications must meet stipulated admission criteria of the institution and they must also meet the national selection criteria for the Funza Lushaka bursaries.
Funza Bursary Selection Criteria
The bursary applicant’s academic ability;
Eligibility for an approved degree or PGCE in one of the priority areas;
Commitment to a teaching career, which generally includes: desire to work with young people; enthusiasm for a professional career option like to teach; readiness to face and surmount difficult challenges and personal integrity;
proven desire to teach in any school to which a student may be appointed by a PED.
