SAMRO Bursaries

SAMRO bursaries is giving awarding bursaries for various qualifications falling within the Service Sector. The main aim for this bursary allocation to match the organisations strategic plans.

Who Should Apply for Samro bursaries?

You must be currently registered with a South African higher education institution (TVET Colleges, Public Universities and Universities of Technology)
Bursary applications should be for 2018 – 2019 academic year
Be a citizen of South African citizen, possessing a valid ID
You must not be a recipient of another bursary

1. General Music Study: Jazz Popular or Western art or African Indigenous Music genres valued at R10 000 each and available to students in their 2nd years

SAMRA bursary gives preference to applicants with disabilities
Scarce and Critical Skills
Students studying at a public institution

2. Music Education/Community Music Study (R10 000 each) available to applicants majoring in of these specialized courses in their 3rd and 4th years

3. Music Technology/Music Business (R10 000 each) available to students majoring in one of these specialized courses in their 3rd and 4th years more information

4. Performance Study: Western Art or Jazz Popular or African Indigenous Music genres (R10 000 each) available to students majoring in performance study in their 3rd and 4th years

SAMRO Bursaries Application Dates

There is no specified application date for SAMRO bursaries for 2018

The SAMRO Music Bursaries are the most substantial awards in music study in Southern Africa. Bursary opportunities are available to citizens of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.  Applicants should be registered for a music degree/ diploma at a South African University in 2018.  Applications will only be accepted once students have proof of registration for 2018.
