The MQA bursary is aimed at increasing the number of students who pursue careers within the mining and minerals sector. The MQA bursary has assisted may applicants by making financial assistance available to them to support their higher education journey.

Who qualifies to apply for MQA bursaries?
You must have enrolled at a university in South Africa
You must be enrolled at a university of technology within the boarders of South Africa
Have strong academic record for the previous year
Be able to prove you are not financially able to pay for your studies fees
Student that have enrolled with the University, Further Education and Training institution (FET) and University of Technology. The bursary scheme covers tuition and registration fees; residence fees or out of residence living costs; books, stationary and toolkit allowance per bursar per semester.
Female students will be afforded special consideration when applying for MQA bursary. This also goes to students with disabilities.
MQA Bursary Obligation
Upon competition successful students will be expected to join the operations within the mining sector in South Africa
Who Can Apply for MQA bursaries?
You must be a South African citizen
Be 35 years old or younger
Possess strong academic record
You must be unemployed
Be able to prove that you are in need of financial assistance
Completed Matric or currently in Matric
Show a genuine interest in the minerals and mining sector
Documents that must accompany your application
Certified copy of your ID document
Certified copies of death certificate of parents if deceased
Affidavit if not in contact with parents
